This afternoon after lunch and until five minutes ago, I had been translating the Afterword about Samuel Taylor Coleridge by Andrej Gorbunov and Natalia Solovjeva into English. I know, yea, I know, that I will write a thorough report on this translation once I have finished with it, but for now… Well, as I was reading and translating this Afterword, I involuntarily discovered that the poetical world of S. T. Coleridge was very much like that of mine! My so-called “world” is in the process of its formation, but… Many of the Coleridge’s ideas are very close to what I think of real poetry; of what it should be like. For example, mysticism, dark imagery or even the motives of loneliness echoed in my soul with understanding. Am I a romanticist? My Teacher, Eugene Lobanov, says I am. Now I will start thinking how to put romantic mysticism and epic poetry together. I have recently chosen my way as an epic poet, if I am a poet, of course. I wrote about it already. I have to talk to Eugene Lobanov about all that.
