Animals.

Here in Elsewhere things are quiet; not many things to do. However, I like quiet so it balances out.
I have 5 animals: Lucy (German Shepard/Retriever), Mojo (mutt), Serena (mama cat), Mateo & Luis (kittens). They are my greatest treasure; my greatest headache. So very spoiled, especially the twins (kittens). Life is exceptionally bearable with them. We talk between the silence as if equals. They're beautiful souls and my best friends.
Scene:
Your head hurts. You reach to inspect the site, but find you're not able to move. You're tied. Dazed, you split open your eyes and see solely a blue sky. Your senses are awakening and you feel the cool, hardness of the earth. Moderately alert, you come to the conclusion you're bound to a railroad track. The crossing sign looms above your right eye.
Dread wasn't a concern...... until you hear the train. Suspended in an iced panic you notice a large dog tied as well about 2 yards away. The trains too close for comfort, and hope sings when you see a girl cutting the dog free.
"that was close", you thought.
I appreciated the sentiments. The train was too close for comfort.
