Spent the early morning doing my usual and then just had a breakfast bagel again! I’m beginning to rely on them more than I should, but they’re just so quick and easy---and filling too!
I got out of here about 9:15 and first went to the post office to mail off my DTE refund check and my special end-of –year dividend check from Continental Capital. I then got a gift for Phyllis’s birthday tomorrow along with a gift bag and a card, so it wouldn’t look so tacky!
I was really low on gas, so I had to fill up at 2.56 this morning—but when you need it—you need it! The Sun was out so I finally had a day I could get the truck washed; so I went over to Vans and got that done, then drove down to Lake to check out the happenings and discovered that there were no happenings! The water was pretty calm with easterly winds only at 7 mph; there were ripples, but no waving action. There was virtually no one around an hour before Noon. Not unusual, I would guess, it being a Monday and the second day of the New Year. There were probably people still with hangovers from Saturday night! Lady Lake conditions were much different than I saw her in on Saturday. But I still enjoyed being there for a little while. A significant chill in the air though!
I drove back along the reclamation project at Peninsula Paper and the local group that now owns the site seem to be hell-bent to get it done. The Chimney Towers are still standing, but the surrounding buildings have been knocked down or are in the process of being knocked down!
I got back to NP about noon. I may go out a little later, but maybe not!
