Jotting Down The Details

Gosh, I'm tired. I'm going to sleep so well tonight. I got woken up a little earlier than I would have liked, but Keenan needed me. He walked to the end of the driveway to catch the school bus and a clap of thunder scared him... and then came the lightening. He's very fearful of loud noises, and he was by himself. He came tearing back into the house, scared to be outside. He missed his bus, so I had to get up and take him. I couldn't be upset with him. He's got sensory processing issues, and no matter how hard he tries, it continues to be a stumbling block for him. He may always shy away from noise.

I've been looking for a reason to get back in the gym, and this storm was exactly what I needed. When it's nice outside, I don't feel terribly compelled to go inside and work out. But with the weather being wet and blustery, it was perfect gym weather! After dropping Keenan off at school I hit up the gym and spent about an hour working it out. It felt great! I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill at an incline, then did a weight circuit and rolled on the foam roller. Nothing crazy. It's been over a month since I lifted, and I don't want to be too sore... but I'm already feeling it.

When I got home from the gym, the power was flickering. So, I got right to showering and dressing for work. Even though I had a short/late shift, I was dressed and ready to go by 1pm. I didn't want to risk being stuck dressing in the dark. I even had time to try a new hair styling method, and diffuse it dry (instead of letting it air dry). I applied product to small sections instead of doing my entire head at once. I used a curl defining cream, a styling cream, and a little gel all mixed together. The definition was on point! I diffused it and then fluffed a bit with my fingers. Talk about a good hair day. It looked amazing!

Work was excruciating. I spent 4 hours recovering the store and chatting with my coworkers. Not the worst night, except for the fact that there were no customers to help. I'd much rather keep busy helping customers. There's another wave of storm coming tomorrow, so I'm not sure if my shift tomorrow will be any better.

As was leaving work for home, Snookums texted, letting me know the power was out. As I turned onto our street I could see why. A large tree had fallen on the power lines about 100ft from our driveway. Snookums texted me at 9:30pm. I got home a little after 10pm and they were already working on fixing the problem. Such a better response than in years past! We used to be without power for days at a time. Tonight it was less than an hour. Good job Puget Sound Energy!

I gotta sleep now. I'm not writing my best, anyway. Just jotting down the details, but I don't have much to add. I need some sleep.
