My Life Thus Far

*Knock On Wood*

My entire day has revolved around how unbelievably sore I am (from yesterday's hike). I knew there would be some soreness. After all, it was a very taxing hike physically (as well as mentally), but I underestimated just how taxing. Usually I'm not this sore until day 2 after physical exertion. I can't imagine it getting much worse than this *knock on wood*!

Last night I checked my schedule for next week and discovered that I'm getting a three day weekend! I got my shift for tomorrow covered because Keenan has Nutcracker auditions (and there's no way in hell I'm missing that), but my days off next week are Sunday and Monday. So, I'm getting a little staycation! I'm excited, because I rarely ever get consecutive days off like this. Unless I request them... and I usually don't, because I don't want to lose pay. In this case, I'm not. Well, except for Saturday, but there's no amount of money worth missing watching my baby dance. In my mind, I'm already envisioning 5 or 6 years down the road when it's his turn to play the prince. Clearly, I'm getting ahead of myself. He'll probably be a baby mouse, or a soldier or something. Regardless, I'll be one proud dance mama!

On the financial front, there's been a little glimmer of light shed on us. Snookums got his book stipend from the VA. Just about $700 we weren't anticipating. Snookums doesn't need that much for his books this quarter (he found them all used), so we have a little bit extra to fall back on. We've been managing okay this week. Since our phone situation ended up not costing as much as we'd anticipated, we've been coasting along, doing okay. I'll take whatever bit of relief I can get, though and having some money stashed away in case of an emergency is so important to me.

Snookums just brought me the registration paperwork for Keenan's audition tomorrow, and oh my goodness... there's so much involved with being in this production. I'm wondering how it's going to work with my actual work schedule. I have to be at all the shows (they call it volunteering, but it's more like being voluntold), and it's on Thanksgiving weekend. The busiest weekend in retail... oh goodness. I can't see this going over well at work.
