My Life Thus Far

Far Better Than Nothing

It felt like the longest day ever at work today. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't seem to get in the right mindset. It was busy, and I was in constant motion. Yet, all I could think about was how much longer I had until I could leave. I didn't help that I had to take my lunch earlier than usual, leaving 5 hours of my shift left. For some reason, I'd rather work the bulk of my shift before lunch, then have maybe 2 or 3 hours left when I come back. It was flipped today, and it was miserable. I managed to rally a little energy around 3:30pm, and made it through the rest of the day. Immersing myself in selfless customer service did the trick.

The drama with my phone continues, but has been somewhat resolved for the short term. The husband went into T-Mobile first thing to figure out what could be done. My Note 5 is insured, but it's still going to cost $175 to get it fixed. They transferred Jason's SIM to a cheap LG phone and factory resetted his Note 5 so I could use that (since it was his fault, I shouldn't be punished with the crap phone). I've lost everything. All my contacts, all my pictures, all the dates and times in my calendar, and (less important but still annoying) I have to start over in all of my games. Back at level 1. Thankfully Google keeps a record of what apps were on your phone, so I could easily reinstall my banking/credit card/work apps. When they resetted it, they somehow overrode the last software update, so it's a step down from the operating system on my phone, but it's far better than nothing. I found a cute Taj Mahal wallpaper, so I guess that's a bright spot.

I made white bean marinara over capellini pasta (and of course garlic bread) for dinner. Even though I worked all day, went grocery shopping, came home, put the groceries away, then cooked dinner (so... everything), it was still relaxing to sit down to a hearty home-cooked meal. A good end to an agitated day. I can't really ask for too much more.
