No Heroic Measures

I worked a 12 hour day, and the full effect of that didn't even hit me until I sat down in bed. Now I'm ready to pass out. Or at least, quit thinking and start staring mindlessly at the TV while I wait for the cannabis to kick in and eat mango chunks sprinkled with red chili flakes. I guess you could say my evening (or early morning, since its after 1am) is planned!

The first half of my shift was onboarding. Once again, only a fraction of them showed up. What is it going to take for all of them to actually make it to a scheduled shift. Christie and I had the same idea: I might as well start over with all of them. Seems like every one of them is on a different stage of onboarding. I can barely keep up with it. I just want it to be over. I can tell you right now, if I get the Ops and Staffing position, I won't handle it this way again. Phase 1 and employment forms first, then once everyone is done with that they all move on to Phase 2 together.

Both girls I was onboarding had to leave early to go to other jobs. So, I spend the remaining 8 hours I was there recovering the cotton panty bar. I can't remember a time it looked worse than it did today. It was evident that it hadn't been touched in days. Thursday we had inventory and there were still stacks of panties (hidden under piles of panties) that had their price tags sticking out. The inventory team doesn't tuck tags back in after they're done.

We vowed a long time ago, Allison and I, that we wouldn't pull all-nighters to get ready for DM visits anymore. No heroic measures. It just isn't worth it. They're still going to pick us apart unrelentingly, so why sacrifice so much of ourselves to still get dissected? We got a lot done today. Allison opens tomorrow, so she's going to come in early to finish up the last minute details. Thank goodness I'm off. I care, but not enough to want to come in early after leaving so late.

There's nothing else to talk about since I was at work open to well after close. I did get to see lots of Snookums today. He waved every time he walked past my store. He's too cute.
