My Life Thus Far

With Zero Hesitation

I'm so tired, I could roll over and fall asleep with zero hesitation. But I must write first. And the reality is, I probably won't fall asleep for another hour or more. Or I'll try to fall asleep and will find myself staring at the ceiling for an hour. I won't jinx myself, though. I'll sleep well tonight. Just like last night.

I had other things planned for the day, but Snookums woke up and asked if I wanted to go hiking. Yes, always. Hiking is always a yes. I haven't asked him in a long time because the past couple hikes he's gone on, he complained or didn't even attempt to hide that he wasn't enjoying himself. I figured hiking was just my thing, so I don't bother asking. But he offered. He suggested Spruce Railroad on Lake Crescent, and I really wasn't going to say no. Lake Crescent has had a piece of my heart since the first time I laid eyes on it the Summer of 2000. The kids and I have done the Spruce Railroad hike twice, so this was my third time. It was still amazing.

Kiki didn't want to go because she stubbed her toe yesterday and swore she couldn't walk on it. Annie didn't want to go because she just isn't into hiking and would rather hang with her friends. Even if it means Kiki has to hang with her. So, Keenan and Daddy went with me. Which was fine. It was more peaceful without Kiki and Keenan bickering about something or another.

I took lots of pictures. I took in all the beauty that is Lake Crescent. I fully enjoyed the physical exertion (which wasn't nearly as hard as it was the last time I did the hike), and I enjoyed watching Snookums discover the awesomeness that is Spruce Railroad. It was a wonderful day. Now I'm going to bed. I'm so, so sleepy.
