My Life Thus Far
Not Traveled Often
There's some issue with out WiFi connection, so I'm forced to write this on my phone. Of course it would be the night I have a screaming headache, so unfortunately this entry will be short.
It was a good day. I slept in, spent the morning lounging in bed with Zephyr (who is back to his loving, sweet, smart self), then Snookums and I took Kiki and Keenan hiking. We went to North Kitsap Heritage Park, because that's my current obsession right now. I feel the need to hike all the trails before I attempt to conquer another park. Silly, I know.
Our hike today covered just under 6 miles. There was a trail on the map called Beaver Pond Loop, and I thought it would be a good trail for the kids to do, because there was a destination involved. Turns out there's no access to the beaver pond. You can see it through the trees, but you can't get to it
They took it well. Probably better than I did.
We spent the majority of the hike looking for different varieties of mushrooms, flowers, and finding tracks from different animals. We're pretty sure we found cougar tracks near the beaver pond. Which makes sense, because it was a deep in the woods, very overgrown, and not traveled often. Of course I'd pick the longest most challenging trail, but it was fun!
We grabbed some dinner from the hot bar at Town and Country on Bainbridge (they have the best hot food selection around), then came home. I'm fresh out the tub and fighting a bit of a headache. I know I didn't eat enough today, so I think I'll go have a delicious vegan cinnamon roll to compensate.
