I wanted to check on how much I had on my Scottrade debit cards, so I went on line for a fee hour with xfinity. I have about 46 bucks on my main account and only 27 on the other, so it’s a good thing the 800 hit my CUR account! Now I have a little more something to tide me over for a while!
Sun’s coming up now and I have to get shaking if I want to get to Meijer’s early!
Got to Meijer’s at 7:45---still a lot of shoppers for that hour. I got Juice, Tea and the other things in my list, but forgot to get the Klondike Bars and the Sharp Cheddar slices.
I got them home and put away and went back to Aldi’s, who don’t open until 9 to get Milk and eggs and trade in my beer bottles. Then I drove back to Meijer’s and picked up the stuff I forgot the first trip and also got some running around cash.
I drove that stuff back to the apartment, put it away and then walked over to the Art & Craft Festival, which started about 10.
There was a crowd moving there already, as large as the Farmer’s Market, which gets a huge draw, so I think the show will be a hit and hopefully profitable for the City as well as the exhibitors!
I was only interested in two booths today, which were in my eye, the two “Best in Show”, so I went directly to Jack Shultz’s Booth and bought the two prints that attracted me yesterday, 8x10’s of Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse in Newfoundland and Portland Head Light in Portland ME! They both were of gnarly water scenes and kind of captured my imagination! Jack wasn’t busy yet and we got to chat it up for some time. He was late 50’s or early 60’s and told some fascinating tales of how he travelled to remote places and how he made his pictures, so I got a full dose of how much he loved what he did!
Next I went to the booth of Jeremy Church, a local kid who shoots some of his stuff from a Kayak and gets magnificent results. He’s in his late 20’s or very early 30’s and kind of a hippy type, but what an eye! Every one of his photos seemed to have it’s own personality. He was a little busier than Jack, but that was mostly because he was a local and seemed to know a lot of people and apparently, they all loved his work! We only got to chat for a few minutes, but I bought 2 8x10’s from him too!
Now I have to find frames for them, so I’ll go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to see what I can find! I also need a new frame for my “The Man that Always Rides” that Ann gave me as an engagement present! Imagine that, I have an Edna Laird Original, still in my possession! It’s been moved or stored for so long that the original frame is shot, so I’ll have to pop for a new one. I’m just spending money like I had it, but that painting and the Charcoal drawing of Shillelagh by Georgia Alder are the only two real treasures that I have left of my “other life”!
