Humanity's fading

Dear diary,

Some say every individual is a potential killer unless some humanity is still left in them. It's our empathy towards others that stops us from committing murder. Once it's gone, killing would be a cakewalk. You wouldn't care about others, 'cause you've already turned it off.

Last night I suggested picnicking on Khalij Artificial Lake, a recently-built fenced lake, in which tons of fish swim. After having dinner there, we packed up, went for a walk to not only burn calories but also enjoy the beautiful scenery. The lake was surrounded with people throwing pieces of bread into waters, feeding the fish. Staring at the lake, all of a sudden we noticed a huge fish jumping out into the ground next to these guys' feet, fighting for its life. It took a second to realize what those morons were up to. I thought they would push it back into the waters. Stamping their feet on it harshly, they opened up their basket instead and threw it inside, laughing evilly. Witnessing this, I felt sick at once.
It's an artificial lake people! what's wrong with you? No one catches fish in there!
I was turning around to look for a security guard or sth, informing them of this cruelty. Seethed with anger, the security guard ran toward them, warning them to open up their basket. "It's a private thing," they talked back. "Open up or I'll call the police," he said fiercely. Lastly, they gave up both their prey and their fishing rod.
