My Life Thus Far

It's In My Favor

Even I can't believe how hard I procrastinated getting up for work this morning! I set my alarm for 7am, but when it went off (even though I'd already kind of started waking up on my own 20 minutes before) I turned right around and set it for 15 minutes later... and then another 15 minutes... then 15 more minutes. Before I knew it, it was 7:45am, and I needed to be to work at 9am. Generally it takes me about an hour to get ready, but I somehow managed to leave with enough time to stop at Starbucks. I'm still having a hard time getting myself to make my smoothies in the morning. I did okay for a few days, but I've fallen off again.

It was so busy at work this morning! I don't know why it was so busy, but being on minimum coverage had me breaking a sweat. It's all good, though. When I left my sales per hour was over $600. I'm having a really good month. Kaitlin - not so much. Seems like we take turns struggling. I was hoping it wouldn't be that way. I honestly want both of us to do well, not just me. It isn't that either one of us is working a more advantageous schedule. You just can't predict how traffic will flow. For now, I'll enjoy that it's in my favor.

Somehow I lost a day. I kept thinking today was Saturday. When I got off work, in a panic I ran around getting Kiki's birthday shopping done. I ordered her a cake, bought presents and wrapping paper. I got everything I need (except I just realized Kiki needs cupcakes for her class. The cake is for at home, ugh). This time of year is always a little stressful for me. I want the kids birthdays to be special and perfect. Both are tough to achieve, and I put a lot of pressure on myself. They're always happy with whatever I get them. I shouldn't be so hard on myself... but I am. I probably always will be.

My dad is completely and totally enamored with Poulsbo. He acts like I don't live here, and haven't seen and experienced everything this town has to offer. It's nothing spectacular. He's convinced it's actually a Norwegian village. I don't want to disrupt his vision by telling him it's just a kitschy tourist trap. I guess I'll look at the positive side of it. He's loving his new home... he also told me how he discovered Navy Federal, then proceeded to tell me where its located. Its our bank. I know where it is. I have to remind myself that while I'm intimately familiar with this area, he's rediscovering (or discovering) it all. Patience is something I continuously need to work on.
