Consistent Behaviors

Aside from the very strong urge to not get out of bed this morning, my day went rather well. It was a simple day. Not too much to it. I went to work, did a little grocery shopping, hung out with dad while I cooked (and the kids played outside with the neighbor kids), and now we're hanging out in the living room. Two nights in a row I haven't written in bed. Which is out of the norm for me. But really, I can write anywhere.

One week into the April fiscal month, and I'm doing well. It's funny how it doesn't seem hard to excel when I'm not really thinking much about it. Consistent behaviors are working, because I trust that they will. Also, I'm not really being scheduled with people who compete against me. I really hate that others are so competitive. Why can't we all be successful? Strive to be the best version of yourself. Instead of trying to take from one another and constantly one up.

I made a really delicious potato corn chowder for dinner. I've been wanting it for a few days now. While I was washing and cutting potatoes, I got to have some great one-on-one conversation with dad. It was probably some of the most intelligent conversation I've had in years. He seemed to be in a really good place today. I was surprised to see him here when I got home, but I'm glad he was. It was a beautiful day, and I figured he'd be out exploring. I didn't realize I needed to talk to him, until I was.

Something seems to be wrong with Snookums. He's quiet and distant. I didn't see much of him today. He was asleep when I went to work, he just got home from work, and he hasn't said more than a few words to me. Or anyone. Dad said he was a little irritated when he left for work this afternoon. I wonder what's wrong?
