Literally Dragged

I slept like absolute shit last night. Even though I medicated, I still couldn't get comfortable and it wore off before I could fall asleep. By the time I did get reasonably comfortable, I only had a few hours to sleep. Then, I kept waking up due to weirdly elaborate dreams. I intentionally put them out of my mind, so there's nothing to share.

I dragged myself into work this morning. Literally dragged. No sleep, and I'm still not well. Physically I felt (and still feel) fine. No body aches, headache, or fever. No classic cold symptoms. Just this scratchy throat and now laryngitis. When I left for work, my voice was just barely here, by the time I left it was totally gone. Thank goodness it wasn't too busy this morning. It was a crap sales day. I didn't even care. All I could focus on was how hard it was to talk.

When I got off I caved and stopped at Target for some allergy meds. I settled on Alavert. It seemed to cover my symptoms at a decent price. I don't know if it's a placebo effect (maybe one dose is too soon to tell), but I think I felt better soon after taking the first dose. My eyes stopped watering, the drainage down my throat wasn't as bad, and my nose didn't itch. I still didn't have a voice, but I figure that'll take some time, and I vowed not to talk or attempt to talk for the rest of the day. 10 hours and no talking later, I still don't have a voice. I'm starting to feel pretty irritated by it.

Even though I took a vow of silence, there isn't anything wrong with my body, so I took the little kids to Battle Point to walk and play. It was such a beautiful day. It was lovely getting out and walking in the sunshine. When we got home I made myself a pot of veggie soup... It didn't help either. But I'm hoping sleep will.
