Music Shuffle

Mood: Good
Song: The Middle by Jimmy eat world
Color: Orange
Writing challenge day 12 Feb 12th: first 10 songs on shuffle and what they mean to you.

1. Superman By Five for Fighting.
This song is one that i'll listen to when i feel like I've let someone down...
or when someone i look up to seems to let me down.
it reminds me that no one is superman no one is Invincible we all feel things, we all bleed, we all have our fears and insecurity's and we all want to feel like we are special and we all want to belong.

Chosen Lyric from the song:
"It may sound absurd but don't be naive
Even hero's have the right to bleed.
I may be disturbed but won't you concede
Even hero's have the right to dream
And it's not easy to be me.

up up and away, away from me
well it's alright you can all sleep sound tonight
i'm not crazy or anything...

I can't stand to fly i'm not that naive
men weren't meant to ride with clouds between their knees

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
digging for kryptonite on this one way street.
Only a man in a funny red sheet
looking for special things inside of me
Inside of me, inside of me"

2. You raise me up By Westlife Or Josh Groban Both are good versions

This one is really inspirational for me and it's an old one a song learned as a young child and listening to it now kind of brings tears to my eyes.
God is good, and anything that is good or strong in me only comes from him and it's his choice to raise us up and bring us to the place he wants us to be.
i love this song.

Chosen lyric:
"There is no life, no life without it's hunger
each restless heart beats so imperfectly
but when you come and i am filled with wonder
sometimes, i think i glimpse eternity

You raise me up so i can stand on mountians
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when i am on your shoulders.
You raise me up to more than i can be.
You raise me up to more than i can be"

3. Hello my name is By Matthew West
This song is just encouraging and some day's you just need it.
Some days i need it.
we as christian's i think we need to remember we are working from victory not to victory!
we know how the story ends and the voices that tell us that we aren't good enough, the things that remind us of our past mistakes, the regrets the Fall outs.
The things that drag us down....
we don't have to believe them!
we don't have to live in defeat.
we are children of the one true King and through him we are made new

I forgot how much i loved this song...how much i need to hear it sometimes...wow.

Chosen lyric:

"Hello my name is regret i'm pretty sure we have met
every single day of your life, i'm the whisper inside
that won't let you forget.
Hello my name is defeat i know you recognize me
Just when you think you can win i'll drag you
right back down again
till you've lost all belief

Oh these are the voices, oh theses are the lies
and i have believed them for the very last time!

Hello my name is Child of the one true king
I have been saved, i have been changed, i have been set free
"Amazing grace" is the song that i sing
hello my name is child of the one true King

I am no longer defined by all the wreckage behind
the one who makes all things new has proven it true
Just take a look at my life" :)

4. world of chances by Demi Lovato
This song while actually about a relationship makes me think of friendships and loyalty and of the people that i still care about that don't care that have hurt me over and over.
that i've given 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th chances to and who i would still give chances to...
I relate to this song.
i don't give up on people that's just not who i am.

chosen lyric:
"You've got a face for a smile you know?
It's a shame that you waste it when breaking me slowly
But i've got a world of chances for you
I've got a world of chances for you
i've got a world of chances, Chances that your burning through.

I've got a paper and pen, i go to write you goodbye
and that's when i knew i've got a world of chances for you"

5. Empty Chairs at Empty tables By Eddie Redmaye (from Le Miserables)

Okay...so my phone is literally just on shuffle...i don't choose the songs and this isn't one i would choose it makes me cry...
this is literally one of the saddest songs i have ever heard in my life and i think it's the saddest song in the movie but that's probably because the theme of the song is something i can relate to...the song is about survivor's guilt.
And it's not something i talk about in fact it's something i think i've only admitted to once in my entire life...twice now since i'm doing it here.
But i do have survivors guilt...I survived when my brother didn't and it bothers me.
Though i'm told and i do believe that he got the better end of the deal he's in heaven with The Lord and our family waiting.
but...I miss him and i want him here with me the way it's supposed to be.

chosen lyric.
"Oh my friends, my friends forgive me
That i live and you are gone
There's a grief that can't be spoken
there's a pain that goes on and on

Phantom faces at the window
phantom shadows on the floor
empty chairs at empty tables
Where my friends will meet no more"

6.100 Years By Five for fighting.

Well Five for fighting makes it on this list twice, look at that.
This song is kind of about how short life is...
a person can usually live up to 100 year...and that is a stretching it...most of us aren't that lucky.
but 100 is the top the limit.
and it's about what your feeling at the different stages in life and how you come full circle and i think it's a beautiful song and for me...
it's just about hope it's about the hope of having a happy life and that you can choose who you are and what your going to do. so make the best of it.
It really is beautiful look

chosen lyric:
"I'm 15 for a moment caught in between 10 and 20
and i'm just dreaming, counting the ways to where you are.

I'm 22 for a moment and she feel better than ever and
were on fire making our way back from mars.

15 there's still time for you time to buy and time to lose
15 there's never a wish better than this when you've only
got 100 years to live.

I'm 33 for a moment still the man but you see i'm a "they"
a kid on the way babe, a family on my mind.

I'm 45 for a moment the sea is high and i'm headed
into a crises chasing the years of my life.

Half tie goes by suddenly your wise
another blink of an eye 67 is gone
the sun is getting high we're moving on...

I'm 99 for a moment and dying for just another moment
and i'm just dreaming counting the ways to where you are

15 there's still time for you
22 to i feel her too
33 your on your way
everyday's a new day"

7. All star By Smash mouth

this song is fun to sing and actually really encouraging.
it's telling you to get out and take the chances.
and just roll with the punches work with what you've got do your best and just have fun in life.
i really like this song believe it or not lol

Chosen lyric:

"It's a cool place and they say it gets colder
your bundled up now wait till you get older
but the meteor man beg to differ
judging by the hole in the satellite picture

The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
the waters getting warm so you might as well swim
my worlds on fire how about yours?
that's the way i like it and i'll never get bored.

Somebody once asked could i spare some change for gas
i need to get myself away from this place
i said yep what a concept i could use a little fuel myself
and we could all use a little change!

well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
back to the rules and i hit the ground running
didn't make sense not to live for fun
your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb.

So much to do so much to see so whats wrong with
taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
you'll never shine if you don't glow

all that glitters is Gold
only shooting star break the mold"

8. Why Not by Hilary Duff
This is a throw back to my childhood but i like the message...
just Go. and do.
You will never have this moment back so take the chance live and don't regret anything.
If you you lose a moment you may lose a life.
there are two versions to this song with alternating lyrics... i like both but this is the one i'm going with today.

chosen Lyric:

"You think your going nowhere when your walking down the street.
acting like you just don't care when life could be so sweet.
Why you wanna be like that like there's nothing new
your not fooling no one your not even fooling you.
So walk a little slower and open up your eyes
Sometimes it's so hard to see the good things passing by.

there may never be a sign no flashing neon light
telling you to make your mover or when the time is right.

so why not take a crazy chance
why not do a crazy dance
if you lose a moment you may lose a life
so why not?
Why not?"

9. It's America by Rodney Atkins

It's a country song...it's catchy and i sing it when i'm in a good mood, and i'm proud to be an American.
and the lyric i'm choosing below is the type of community i live in and i deal with tornado's and i just live it a really good state... one of the best.

chosen lyric:
"Later on when i got home i flipped the TV on
I saw some little town some big twister tore apart
and people came from miles around just to help the neighbors out
I was thinking to myself i'm so glad i live in America.

It's a high school prom, it's a springsting song
it's a ride in a chevrolet
It's a man on the moon, it's firefly's in June and kids selling
lemonade, It's city's and farms, it's open arms.
It's one nation under God. It's America.

Now we don't always get it all right
but there's no place else i'd rather build my life
Cause it's a kid with a chance, it's a rock n' roll band
it's a farmer cutting hay, It's a big flag flying
in the summer wind over a fallen hero's grave
It's America"

10. Jeremiah was a bullfrog By Creedence clearwater
An oldie but a goody just fun lol :)

Chosen lyric:
" Joy to the world! all the boy's and girl's
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me!"

That's all folks...

Peace
