My Life Thus Far

Anywhere But At Work

I love short days! Now that it's a less busy time of year, my hours have been shaved back a bit. Which is totally fine with me. I enjoy working 30 hours a week, as opposed to over 40. I love getting 3 days off in a week. I'm happiest when I have a little more time to spend with the family, and alone. Anywhere but at work.

I got to sleep in. I woke up on my own (no alarm), laid in bed with my eyes closed, and just enjoyed the easy wake up. Then I made myself lunch (yes, I slept that late). My potato leek/kale soup, and toast. I wish I could work the shift I worked today everyday, because I didn't have to go in until 1:30pm, and I got off at 6pm. It was perfect. The busiest time of the day.

For some reason, we were scheduled at bare minimum coverage. It was me, Jenna, and Amanda. That's it. Working the entire store. At times it was fine, but then it picked up and Jenna had to backup cashier. I was the only one working the whole floor. I'm not complaining though. I sold about $500/hr. Which was much needed after the first week of the month. I think I'm back on track now. So, I get to go into my day off tomorrow not worried about that, at least. It's definitely peaceful when work is working out.

After I got off, I stopped into the gym to see how much it would cost to get my membership up and running. I got a great surprise. The $75 joining fee, and the $20 key charge were waived and all I had to pay was a one-time $35 maintenance charge and the prorated amount for this month! That made me so happy, because I was expecting to have to pay well over $100 to get started. I'm going tomorrow when I wake up. I'll make myself a smoothie, then go hit the gym. I'm excited about it! I'm probably one of the few people who look forward to going to the gym. It really helps elevate my mood.

I'm trying a new nut milk in my smoothie tomorrow. Hazelnut. It was on sale at Central 2/$4.00, I've never had it, but I'm willing to try anything once. I got the regular and the chocolate. Obviously the chocolate isn't going into my smoothie, but I like chocolate milk as much as the next person. I noticed the hazelnut milk has more protein and fiber than the cashew milk I've been using. I need more nutrient dense foods in my life.
