My Life Thus Far
Today Just Wasn't the Day
What a day... I got to sleep in. Lots of deep, glorious sleep. I truly believe sleeping well helps me cope with some of the bullshit life forces me to deal with. There must be some sort of scientific evidence to back that up.
As I was standing in Starbucks, waiting for my coffee, I got a text from Navy Federal asking me if I'd just made a purchase of $16.50 at Petrol Canada... um, no. I didn't. I texted back 2 (1 for yes, 2 for no), and almost as soon as the text went through, I got a call from the bank. Stupid me, not knowing how to work my new phone I accidentally hung up when I was staying to open the keypad. I was so preoccupied with the idea of having my identity stolen, that I didn't get to address the fact that the batista messed up my drink. She half-assed her way through remaking it by adding water to two shots, instead of giving me the 4 shots I ordered, and added it to soy milk. It was so weak. I do plan on leaving a comment, today just wasn't the day.
Eventually I got through to the bank. By the time I did, I was at work. I ended up having to leave to go into the bank branch to get the fraud paperwork done and to have a new card issued. Within an hour it was all sorted out. Turns out there were a few small charges. I feel so fortunate that it was a small loss, and they caught it early. Identity theft is such a widespread issue nowadays. I posted about it on Facebook, and several of my friends have had it happen to them too.
I did finally get back to work. It was a quick day for me. I got back to the store around 3:30pm, and the store closed at 7pm. Tomorrow is the first day of Semi-Annual, we always close early for setup the night before. Snookums is being such a big help, and working the overnight shift. He got up super early this morning to work at Trader Joe's, and he'll be at VS until at least 3am. He's such a nice guy.
I need to go to sleep. I know tomorrow is going to be stupid busy. I'm so not looking forward to it, but I know time will fly by, and then I'll have 2 days off. Yay! Who doesn't love days off?
