I Need To Get My Strength Back

Work is consuming my life, and leaving me with precious little to extrapolate on. Work was work. Same shit, different day. I don't want to talk about it...

I got the confirmation email that Snookums' anniversary gift has been shipped! It's something totally different from anything I've ever given him before... I guess it's safe to say what it is, since he never reads my diary... It's a wooden watch! Ebony and walnut, with an inscription burned into the back plate. I Love You More and our anniversary date (this year, so he'll always know it was for our 12th anniversary). I love it, I think it's the coolest thing, and I can't wait to give it to him! He's always on a quest for a nice watch, and I'm always telling him he shouldn't even bother (because he's so rough on them). So, this is my way of showing him I have faith in his ability to care for something that isn't cheap from Target.

Snookums took me out to dinner this evening at a little local Italian place. It was pretty tough being vegan there. There wasn't a single entrée on the menu that didn't include a meat sauce, several cheeses, or cream. I was left with salad and cheese-less pizza. So, that's what I ordered. On the menu the house salad was mixed greens, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot and your choice of dressing. Since cheese wasn't on the menu, I didn't specify no cheese... so of course it came with a heaping pile of parm right in the middle. Ugh. Our server said the menu had changed, but hasn't been updated yet. What the actual? That makes no sense to me. Why would you do that? Then my pizza arrives. I ordered the fresh vegetarian on a gluten free crust with no cheese. Pretty straight forward... It came smothered in mozzarella. Like, covered. So I had to wait for it to be remade. By this time Snookums had already finished his dinner. I didn't get upset about it. I accept that my veganism is a foreign concept to most people. I just find it very difficult to understand why people can't seem to get it when I am very explicit in my desire to have ZERO animal products. Everyone knows where cheese comes from. I'm not going out on a limb here and saying no confectioner's glaze because it contains lac beetle extract. But I would, if the situation came up. My point is, the shit's basic. No fucking cheese. Please.

I get to sleep in tomorrow! But I'm still going to get up with enough time to go to Snap, fill out my paperwork, and get in a little workout. I need to get the ball rolling with this. I need to get my strength back. The only way that's going to happen is if I JUST DO IT!
