My Life Thus Far

To No Avail

I don't know what the hell is going on with my body the past few days, but last night (this morning) I didn't fall asleep until after 6:30am! I had been sleeping really well. I'm not sure what changed, and I don't know what to make of it. My educated guess would be hormones. I'm not feeling the least bit stressed. I have nothing pressing on my mind. I also haven't been eating as well, either. Perhaps that has something to do with it. I haven't been "bad" (I hate that terminology, by the way), just not getting as many nutrient dense foods (i.e. morning breakfast smoothie, daily avocado, etc.) as I normally would. I've already recommitted myself to my nutrition. It's in the works.

Snookums got a little frustrated last night, because he did everything he could to help get me to fall asleep. To no avail. Since my back pain is back (with a vengeance), my anxiety is acting up subtly (I'm more jumpy than usual, and have more moments of panic), on top of not sleeping, we decided I should probably start back on the cannabis vaporizer. Nothing else has worked so well, and I have no negative side effects. So, we drove out to Sea Change and got my little JuJu joint. This time they didn't have any Presidential OG Kush in stock, so I'm trying a newer strain called Evergreen Berry. It's supposed to be more of a mellow sedation than the Presidential OG Kush, with a hint of berry flavor. I'm down for that. I'm curious about it. The OG Kush has a very powerful sedative effect. The Evergreen Berry is a hybrid strain, somewhere between an Indica (sedative) and a Sativa (heady high). So, merely a suggestion of passing out, not a guarantee! It only bothers me slightly that I'm starting to understand how the different strains work. Whatever.

We added a few new items to the newly redecorated house. Homegoods clearance finds! A globe with the constellations on it (in their positions in the night sky), a vintage looking faux leather suitcase, a decoupage elephant (in a red and white mandala designed fabric), and a very interesting looking tiered stand that I'm using for produce. I don't know what it's supposed to be for, but it's perfect for fruits and veg. I'm still thinking about what I want to do in the bedroom. Changing the bedding is a must, but I haven't been able to find a comforter set I love. The two we currently have are years old, and I'm just tired of rotating between them. Minor life problems, I know.

I'm impressed that I'm still awake at 9:30pm, since I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night. I need to sleep well tonight. I hope the Evergreen Berry works...
