Didn't even bother with the Weather details this morning as it was just another dank, dark and wet! No air moving to speak of. I just hope it doesn’t turn into another bleak and dreary day.
Got to the Firestone shop at 8:55 in time for my appointment and got the battery for what the quote had guaranteed. It took about 45 minutes, as they gave me a free diagnostic too, I also got a 10% reduction on the bill for a total of $101.78, which included tax and the disposal charge for the old battery! That was some Blue light Special I lucked into with 5 year warranty to boot a free replacement if anything goes wrong in the next two years, prorated for the next two years and nothing in the last year! Also good news as nothing substantial came up in the diagnostic, so with 111,269 miles on her, she’s in good shape mechanically! After I was done there I went to Aldi’s just for the specials. They had a Pumpkin Cider on sale, so I got two bottles of that, some diced tomatoes, cooking spray, hot sauce and some Sour Cream as I plan to put together another JW Breakfast Casserole tonight with the right ingredients tonight. I then drove down the newly asphalted road to the Mall to get a new battery for my Moon Phase watch. I got that done and then went to Meijer’s and picked up on some of their 10/10 specials and treated myself to some pizza rolls, got a couple of tomatoes and red, yellow and orange peppers, all for a buck apiece and some diced red onions that were 40% off. I’ll use them in tonight’s casserole, so the sell-by date won’t matter
The weather cleared about noon and now it’s 3:50 with full sun! Makes one forget what a wet dreary morning we had.
I got a call from Connie to remind me of my dentist appointment tomorrow morning, so that’s how I’ll start my tomorrow.
I baked pizza rolls for dinner cleaned up the kitchen an got back to John Trenhaile’s “Acts Of Betrayal” the eighth book from him. As the copywrite date was 1991, I’m sure that he’s written more through the ensuing years.
It was a spellbinder, hard to put down and I really enjoyed it I finished just at 10. Good book, good writer, I’m sure I’ll read more of his work when I run across them glad I found both. Other works; The Man Called Kyril; A View From The Square; Nocturne For The General; The Mahjong Spies; The Gates of Exquisite View; The Scroll Of Benevolence and Krysalis are listed on the “Other Titles ”page, so I have something to go on and can check them out at the Library. Went to bed at 10:15.
