Fix my life

If I could pay someone to fix my life then I would. Maybe I'm just saying this because things are starting to feel hopeless; It's difficult to find a job, I still haven't had any successful relationships with people and I can't seem to figure out how to get the life I want.

I've put in 28 applications since June 27th, today is July 18th. I guess it shouldn't really come as a big surprise either, I've read articles that say it could take a minimum of 6 months to 2 years to find a job and I'm only on month 1. I know you might be wondering why would I quit my last job without finding a new job first... well, to keep it short it was driving me crazy. Luckily right now I have the resources to sustain myself at least for a while, I've put in applications for high level jobs that pay well, now it's time for me to put in applications to low level jobs that pay the bare minimum. The problem with those jobs is that most people don't want them, the work is hard and the pay is low, and often you have to deal with managers who are mean and demeaning.

It makes me feel like college degrees are not even worth it unless you are going into something lucrative like medicine, science, engineering ..etc. The problem is that only a small amount of us are shaped since childhood to be competitive in the job market and make good money. When I saw all of those kids graduating at my younger cousins gradation I was wondering how all of them would make it, it just seems like their aren't enough jobs to go around... but on the bright side I do see people out here thriving and surviving and it's very uplifting.

So here's my current game plan..

1. I need to network.
2. I need to volunteer and get into a intern program
3. I need to make side money to pay for gas and food
4. I need to improve my social and interpersonal skills and relationships
5. I need to lose weight

Currently I haven't signed up for any volunteer or intern programs so that I can gain more skills for my resume as well as network with people, but that's because I'm slowly working on earning a little income that will pay for gas so that I won't be spending too much unnecessary money. The way I'm making extra money is by participating in research studies, yesterday I participated in one and made $6.01, that's not a lot but considering that all I did was take an assessment that was about 25 minutes that's really good, plus that's almost 2 gallons of gas money and is worth it.

I'm waiting for them to post more opportunities to see what I can do. The thing about it is that I'm doing this for the major universities in my area, these are universities that cost $30,000 a year to attend or more so $6.01 is like .1 cents to them, so I'm going to keep participating and earning as much money as I can. I'd desperately like to be a student there but the good thing about living in the city is that there are at least opportunities like this around.

Last Thursday when I went to take my assessment for a job I applied to I went to a more affluent city that is not too far from my city. It was so beautiful there! The houses has some of the most beautiful architecture I've ever seen and everyone looked like they had money. It's one of the most safe cities in my state actually. Unfortunately I don't live there.

I'm starting to dislike sitting at home on Saturdays, I didn't go to the library today because my trip to take that job assessment used up a bit of gas and I'm trying to stretch my tank as far as it can for the month. But I did put in a lot of applications today so it doesn't matter.

My classes are almost over! next week I'll have 3 assignments to complete an an extra credit assignment, then the following week I will have 1 last test. So far this class has been easy going and I'm excited to graduate, my transcript is already showing that my degree is pending so I'm glad about that because it may mean they haven't made any mistakes and that everything is processing as it should, I've already paid all my fees and straightening things out with my department.

My next step will be to look into programs that will help me get directly into a job or career that pays well.

Well, I'm going to go now and look at some things..
