My Life Thus Far

Life Cock Blocks

I didn't think I'd adapted to Hawaiian time, but apparently at some point I did, because it's 2am and I'm still up. It doesn't help that we had to drive back to Sea-Tac tonight. The good news is, we were driving back to Sea-Tac to pick up my suitcase! They were supposed to call us last night, but by 9am we still hadn't heard from them, so Jason gave them a call. Turns out my suitcase was just sitting in Honolulu, who knows why. They put it on the next flight out, and it was at baggage claim around 10:15pm this evening. I feel lucky (for once).

Even before I got my suitcase back, I was having a good day. I got to sleep in, then Snookums took me to my favorite Pho place for lunch. Afterwards, we went to Liberty Books to get Kiki a few things for her birthday. This is going to be totally hard to believe, but she's going to be 10 years old tomorrow. I still can't believe it. Snookums wasn't feeling good, so I took him home and went into Silverdale to do some more shopping for my girl. I got some really perfect things for her. Books, shoes, clothes, a few games, a new hairbrush and comb, and toiletries. I'm excited to give her her gifts!

I managed to get home before Kiki to get her presents wrapped and hidden way, then I worked with Keenan on his reading for a bit. He's still struggling with reading for understanding, but he's making progress. I noticed that sometimes if the font of the book changes from page to page, he may have trouble deciphering the new lettering, even when it's the exact same word. I wonder why this is...

After homework time was over, the small ones went outside to play, so Snookums and I took a little time to ourselves. It's funny how parting makes the heart VERY much fonder! I'm sure once we get back into a more normal routine, it won't be happening quite as much. I can't decide if that's a good thing or now. Probably just brutal reality rearing it's ugly head. Life cock blocks.

So, yes my luggage was returned, tomorrow I'll get to give the kids the stuff I bought them. Jason got essentially the same things they did, and love everything, so hopefully everything is a hit!

The sleepy just hit me HARD, so tired... I can feel myself drifting off ever so slightly. Time for sleep.
