My Life Thus Far

The Neurologist

I survived my very long day. It actually wasn't too bad. We went to Annie's appointment, came home, I took a nap, and then went to work. A few weeks ago, I would have gotten myself all worked up about having to be up super early, and then close. But I'm getting better. Not everything in life has to be so dramatic.

The neurologist we went to see today is one of the best pediatric doctors in America (according to one of the 12 awards on his office wall). I love his bedside manner, and really felt like he wanted to help Annie feel better. Our first course of action is to get her on a high dose of B2. This is supposed to greatly reduce the occurrence of her migraines. If after a month this doesn't work, then we will explore prophylactic medication. On our way home from Tacoma, I got a call from Dr. Makari. Turns out Annie's blood pressure is very high and her pulse as well. She has an appointment with her primary doctor on Monday. My stepfather had Grave's disease and had his thyroid removed. I hope it isn't Annie's thyroid. She's the right age, and the symptoms line up.

I had a good evening at work. It wasn't terribly busy, but enough for me to end the day above sales goal. Which should make up for the two days I was a little under plan. Just a few more days left in the month, I need to end strong! I have faith that I'll make my bonus. I need it since Snookums isn't working right now. The lack of income on his part makes me nervous. When I get home from my trip, I will have a discussion with him about it. I need him to find something. Not that I'm bitter that I have to work and he isn't working. I just feel like he's able-bodied with plenty of time on his hands. Why isn't he?

I'm looking forward to medicating and getting some good sleep. I think it's playing a huge part in my physical and mental well-being. I've never given sleep the priority it deserves. But I'm making it a priority now!
