Soundtrack To My Life
Let's get away from the heavy, shall we? I'm going to a fun little entry about what makes
me myself.
I love the color blue, I always have. It started out in part because it was my big
brother's favorite color, and also because it was supposedly Mary-Kate Olsen's favorite
color. I used to watch the Olsen videos constantly, especially the detective ones. My
little sister liked to pretend we were twins, even though we were two years apart and
looked nothing alike.
My mom taught me to read when I was about four. I had wanted to learn before then. My
older brother would be doing Hooked On Phonics, and I'd try to join in. After my brother
learned, my mom taught me, using alphabet stickers and a regular notepad. She'd teach me
new words everyday. Pretty soon, I was reading to my preschool class. I haven't stopped
since. I always want to know MORE.
Another love of mine is music. When I was five, I swore I was going to be just like
Britney Spears. Of course, that was before she shaved her head and made out with Madonna.
She can keep those traits to herself. But I can't read music. When I want to play
something on the piano, I have to pick it out by ear. I'm fascinated by people who can
play instruments, and often get caught staring in awe at someone playing guitar. Sure, I
was a "percussionist' in my middle school orchestra. But I never learned how to read
actual notes. Melodies, harmonies, etc. Its all greek to me, aside from the little I was
taught in the year that I participated in middle school choir.
As a kid, I played a few seasons of spring soccer, two seasons of basketball, a summer of
volleyball, a month of voice lessons, and about three dance classes. The only thing that
ever stuck was cheerleading. My mom did it growing up, and at six years old (my first
season on cheering) all I wanted was to be like her. I really liked to stunt, and I love
learning choreography. I realize I'm not always the cheeriest person, but I am damn good
at faking it. Maybe that would've served me better in theater though.
I go through phases. In my childhood, I had phases for Star Wars, Eminem, Degrassi: The
Next Generation, Usher, and much more. Nw, my phases are pretty much the same. This
summer, I've gone through a country music phase, a Supernatural phase, a Frank Ocean
phase, an Eric Clapton phase, and, most recently, One Tree Hill. For some reason, I get
really into things, and then move on.
Which, unfortunately, is the way I am with guys most of the time. I can only be into
someone for a short period of time. Unless I'm REALLY into them. That's only happened
maybe twice since I was ld enough to date. And I didn't date either of them. I'm never
really that into the guys I date, maybe because its easier for me to stay in control.
I'm about 5"5 (maybe shorter) with brown hair and eyes. Normally, I'm pretty fair skinned.
In the summer though, I see a lot of the pool, so I'm darker. I grew fast, meaining I'm
probably not going to grow anymore. I'm an upcoming Sophomore at my high school, which
happens to be in a small town in eastern United States. I've never been out of the
country, and I haven't been to the west coast since I was four years old. I'm a picky
eater and do my best to avoid vegetables altogether.
I have problems with keeping my friends. And if I'm in danger of keeping one too long,
either they move away or I do. Hell, sometimes both. My 6th grade best friend moved. I
can't stand my 7th grade best friend, one of my 8th grade best friends moved, while I
rarely see the other. I betrayed my freshman year best friend. I have a Sophomore year
best friend all lined up, so we'll see what I do to drive her away.
I go out of my way to avoid confrontationn, or at least I try to. In another life, I was a
dolhpin or something, because once I'm in the water, you can't get me out. When I get
older, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. My fall back career is a jet ski
instructor. I decided this last month while I was at the beach, jet skiing with a friends.
I realized my instructor LIVED at the beach, and didn't have to wear pants to work, just
bikini bottoms. So, if I could do that, at least for a short period of time, it'd be
awesome. As for a serious career, I've entertained psychiatrist, preschool teacher,
journalist, editor, SVU detective, writer, and astronomer. I honestly don't know though.
I hold miniature concerts EVERYWHERE. Specifically, but not limited to, my shower. Not
usually in front of people though. I have a respected reputation for knowing the words to
almost every song, due to the insane amount of time I spend listening to music. My
favorite classes last year were Journalisn, TV Prodduction, Honors English, Spanish II,
and Phys Ed.
That's about all I can think of.
