Where is the Mouth Guard

I was doing some studying in the book of Ephesians and doubling down on the passage in chapter 6 on the armor of God. As I read this, i stopped and reflected on each and every piece of the armor. "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"
I came to realize that there is one piece missing; the mouth guard. Where is the mouth guard in the armor. As I read this again thinking on that I realized how important we make our words today and yet when the Holy Spirit was directing Paul to write this letter, He left the mouth out of it. How silly of us to think that our words are going to be what transforms lives, changes the course of nature, wards off the devil. God has NOT promised to bless my words, He has however promised to bless His Spirit and His Word. The one tool of offense is the Word of God...NOT the word of man. As I further dug into that passage I soon saw that the original word Paul used for Word of God is not a word that simply means, carrying or reading God's Word. It is the Greek Word Rhema which means "utterance" or "thing said" in Greek.[1] It is a word that signifies the action of utterance." That is what God wants our words to be; His Holy Scripture. As we utter His Scripture in our hearts and minds, as we reflect on it, it will protect us from the enemy. Wow, what power there is in Rhema. I don't need a voice of my own right now to exasperate Adam's words...I have Rhema and as my inner spirit utters those Holy Words, I don't need and outer voice to say a single thing. AMEN!
