My Life Thus Far
Another Day Goes By
I'd better write now before another day goes by and I end up falling behind again! There was no reason for me not to write last night. Other than I made the mistake of laying down in bed and leaving my laptop on the charger in the kitchen. I didn't feel like getting back up and ended up falling asleep at 8:30pm! Fail :(
Yesterday morning I got a call from Jose. FINALLY, he acknowledged my email and let me know that on the next schedule he's given my Sunday shift to someone else. I had today off because I offered the shift to one of my coworkers who wanted more hours. So, I'm free! No more 11-13 day work weeks anymore! I only really need one day off, but if I don't get scheduled at Victoria's Secret I can get up to 3 days off a week. Not too bad. A happy balance between working and having leisure time. Something I've kind of missed the past month. AND I don't have to quite working anywhere! I CAN have it all!
My Saturday shift at Bremerton went by smoothly and quickly. I really do love working at the Bremerton Y. It's much more laid back and relaxed. I may be confined to the weight room, but I don't feel like there's nothing for me to do. I can work out, I'm allowed to read, I get to chat with members and I can snack if I feel hungry. The only thing I can't do is leave to go to the bathroom (I have to call someone from the Welcome Center to come watch the weight room for me), but that's totally minor. It doesn't have any kind of stress involved. I love that.
Snookums had a great Father's Day (his words). As soon as he woke up, the kids and I gave him his cards and gifts. He picked up the house, gave the little ones baths and did laundry while I went grocery shopping (I DID NOT tell him to do that, he's just that great of a husband and father). After we got everything put away, we took a little field trip to Trader Joe's (so Snookie could see what I was talking about and why I love it so much. He loves TJ's now, too!) then we went out to dinner at Silver City Brewery in Silverdale. We haven't been there in years, even though we pass by it almost daily - or at least I do. It was a fun evening. Now we're just hanging out. Snookums is watching soccer and I'm writing :) Such a perfect day. Tomorrow it's back to work, but I have Thursday off, so I have something to look forward to. The fact that it's my birthday is inconsequential.
