No Gold Fronts!

Keenan's procedure was a shining success! Apparently it wasn't as bad as I had convinced myself it was. Dr. Brown was able to fix Keeny up with just a few composite restorations. No gold fronts! I have nothing against individuals that choose that look as a personal fashion statement (or if that's the best dental work they can get), but it has no place in my baby boy's mouth.

According to Snookums, Keenan came out of anesthesia VERY upset. I'm glad I wasn't there to witness that (I'd laugh at the poor baby, sadly). By the time they got home Keeny was feeling a little better, but just needed some time cuddling with mama before taking a long nap (to sleep off the last bits of anesthesia). Since he woke up he's been eating EVERYTHING in sight! I wonder if his teeth were bothering him before, because I can't remember a time I've seen him eat as much as he's eaten today. He didn't drink as much milk, either. Probably because he was getting enough nourishment from food instead. Finally.

While Snookums and Keenan were at the hospital, I did manage to get the grass cut to my liking (that includes weed eating the fence line, edging the sidewalk raking and putting down grass-killer along the fence line where the grass likes to grown up into the chain link - I hate that). It looked great and I was just about to start weeding the garden when Snookums called to let me know they were on their way home. So, I didn't get the weeding done, but spending the day with Keenan was more important. He's totally back to normal now. I love how resilient small children are. Adults could take a lesson.

I've enlisted the girls' help in getting Keenan more comfortable with the idea of brushing his teeth. Usually, I force him into letting me brush his teeth. It's a fight I hate getting into and I'd be lying if I didn't say I avoided it more than once or twice. But, now we've decided to have family teeth brushing time. The girls brush their teeth and Keenan watches and mimics. He still wouldn't let anyone help him, but at least he was trying to do it himself. Better than nothing. He really idolizes Kiki, so he did everything she did. Annie and Kiki have always been great brushers, so I think this plan should work well. I know Keenan can't brush his teeth as well as I would brush them, but at this point something is WAY better than nothing!

I've got a massive pimple - just one on my right cheek and it's KILLING me! It's one of those deep ones you can't see, but it hurts like crazy and you can't really do much about. It's hot and it's driving me insane. Right now I've got a raw mineral mask on that's about ready to come off, I'll do some exfoliating and then moisturize and put a little blemish therapy on it. I read online that my beloved coconut oil is good for treating acne, but I'm not so sure. I guess I could try a dab and see what happens. Worst case is another pimple. Considering how messed up my face used to look, a couple pimples isn't too hard to handle. I love what Bare Minerals has done for my skin. I'm sure my healthy lifestyle has a lot to do with it, too. Hopefully my little home spa treatment is just the thing my skin needs to help heal itself.
