Fire and Razor Blades

Not sure why I didn't write last night. I started to, but somehow got distracted and didn't finish (I always start by responding to my messages). I got through a couple then abandoned the effort and went to bed instead! I guess my body was letting me know that's what needed to happen :)

So, for the past week I've been feeling like major poo. I was thinking it had everything to do with my new schedule (adding in job #3) or maybe my hormones acting up, but now I'm starting to think I was fighting a cold. The past few days I've had a raging sore throat. Swallowing was like ingesting fire and razor blades. I didn't complain about it, I just treated it with hot tea, warm salt water gargles and lozenges when I needed to. I figured it was from all the orientations (i.e. constant talking at the yelling point because Haselwood is so freakin' loud right now. Damn you, open floor plan. Every class's music is at top volume at all times). But this morning it's magically gone. As is all of my soreness and the nagging headaches. I feel strong again! I still think I need to get my hormones checked, because a cold doesn't explain why my nipples are hard as diamonds (always, cold or not) and hurt or why I want to cry/eat copious amounts of chocolate/murder someone randomly every now and again (whether or not my period is coming). Getting my levels checked would require me to go to the doctor and of course I'm going to put that off as long as possible :P

I guess I should share a little about yesterday, since I neglected to write! I was really frustrated at the gym. I wanted to do my leg workout, but the weight room was jam-packed crowded! More so than any normal Monday. Every bench was taken, the Smith machine, I couldn't find a clear space to do my jump rope intervals. It sucked! So, I cut my workout short and stood in the middle of the basketball court and jumped rope for awhile. Then, sat in the sauna. That was lovely, until two elderly Japanese ladies came in. I love these two particular ladies, but their incessant chatter in Japanese just rubbed my nerves raw (I was really loving the quiet before they came in). So, I left.

I worked Haselwood 1pm-5pm. That wasn't too bad. My first couple of youth orientations didn't show, so I had lots of time to walk the track, chat with members, help out with other department's breaks and such. The from 3pm on, I had a bunch of orientations and the rest of my shift flew buy. Before I knew it my replacement came to rescue me :) I'm still liking the job at Haselwood. That's a good thing, I think...

Today should be awesome! Minus the driving all the way to Poulsbo to pay $400 for Keenan's dental surgery on Thursday. Everything else about today should be great. I don't work anywhere today! Keenan's got therapy (group therapy is done for the school year, but he's still got two more sessions of individual therapy before he ages out of Holly Ridge), but the rest of the day is open and free. Of course I'm going to the gym, since I'm not sore anymore I can jump back into it and do the workout I've been avoiding. Have a great day, everyone!
