My Life Thus Far
It Feels Good To Be Free
Having a day off was probably the best thing that could have happened to me :) I hadn't realized how much I needed a day off until I got it. It kind of makes me worry about what next month will look like. I'm not sure when I'll have time off again. At least I still have tomorrow. Two days in a row! Yay!
The only chore I accomplished today was grocery shopping. Which wasn't really that much of a chore, since I was really only there to get a few essentials and stuff for our Memorial weekend cookouts. We dusted off the grill and got it fired up for the first time this year! We did steaks, brats and hot dogs for my meat-eaters and veggies (mostly for me) to go along with. It was a lot of fun getting outside and smelling that quintessential summer smell. Even if it wasn't all that warm or sunny here in Washington.
For dessert, I made strawberry shortcakes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream on little individual angel food bundt cakes. The kids enjoyed it so much, it was worth the extra effort.
I didn't go to the gym today. I needed some time away from any Y, even Bremerton (which holds a special place in my heart). I'm glad I'm at a place in my life where I've let go of all my food hang-ups and obsessive over-exercising tendencies. I can LIVE and actually enjoy life, I just know my limits and moderation isn't hard anymore. It feels good to be free!
