Just A Little Terrible

Today has been a nutritional wasteland, but once in awhile isn't going to kill me and overall it was a great day!

I got up at 6:30am so I could shower and get ready for my meeting. I'm not really a morning person, but since I've been making an effort to get to bed earlier I've found that it really isn't SO terrible... just a little terrible :)

The meeting or "learning lab" was all about bra fitting and taking proper measurements. Not something I needed, but since they've done a rash of new hiring there are a few new associates that could benefit from the experience tenured associates have to offer. So, that's what we did. Bra fittings. It was still a good time. I'm not complaining. I got paid to hang out with my co-workers, laugh, goof off and teach the new girls something in the process.

After the meeting I stopped at Target and picked up cupcake provisions. I hate making cupcakes. I hate having them in the house. I hate that I taught my children to like such things, but the damage is done and I have to comfort myself with the knowledge that moderation is key and I've taught them what is healthy and what isn't. Occasional treats are okay. Even for mommy :) As they get older and their tastes develop, I hope to incorporate more healthful options (homemade baked goods made from whole grains, fruits, nuts, less sugar, minimally processed. That sort of thing). I hope I don't sound idealistic. I just want what's best for my family.

Speaking of which, Snookums says he's doing to stop smoking and start getting exercise!! I hope he's serious. He's going to the doctor tomorrow for his allergies and he's hoping to get some gum or patches or something (the Navy pays for active duty to quit smoking). I REALLY want him to succeed. I'll do whatever he needs me to do - whatever it takes for him to reach his goals.

Annie loved her presents! I'm glad. I tried to pick things that she'd really appreciate and enjoy. After finishing making cupcakes and opening presents, we went out as a family. First to Barnes & Noble so Annie could pick out some books and then Olive Garden. It was crowded and I would have rather cooked at home, but it's what Annie wanted.

I can't wait to get back on track tomorrow. I don't have to work anywhere, so I'll be able to get in a great workout. I'm so looking forward to that :)
