Eat Less, Move More

I'm feeling seriously fantastic right now :) All negativity has effectively been sweated out of my body (thank you endorphins)! I didn't have to work tonight after all. So, per Snookums suggestion, I went back to the gym. Tuesday's and Thursday's there's a huge Zumba class on the gym floor at 5:30pm. I haven't taken a Zumba class since September of last year. The Y was going through a period of transition, lots of different instructors, different routines. I'm not a huge fan of change or unpredictability. I just stopped going.

I started out on the StairMaster, but after about 20 minutes the Zumba music came on over the sound system and I was magically drawn down to the gym floor. It was like I haven't missed a class! I remembered all the steps, all the routines. I BROUGHT IT! By the end of class, I was dripping sweat! It felt amazing. My schedule now doesn't allow me to go to every Zumba class like I used to, but I'll try to make it to as many classes as I can. It really is an insane workout.

After class I was inundated by woman that have seen my Y Story poster. Everyone wanted to know my "secret". How I lost so much weight. I don't know how many ways to tell people that 100% of it is sheer consistency and determination. People know what they need to do, they just aren't willing to stick with it over the long term. If anything, that's my "secret". I stuck to it and continue to stick to it. No mysterious tricks or magic bullets. I eat healthy, I exercise, I take in fewer calories than I burn (most days). I hate to disappoint them, because I know they're looking for a specific workout or a product recommendation. Sorry, I have none of those things. Eat less, move more! Simple. Okay, maybe not simple, but a simple concept :)
