I Played It Safe and Didn't Run

What a great day I had! Snookums came home from work early, so I didn't have to drag all the kids to the gym with me (I love them, but getting them all dressed and out the door at the same time is... challenging at times)! Once daddy was home, Kiki and Keenan didn't want to go, anyway. So, I just took Annie with me. She's the only one old enough to truly enjoy all the youth activities available. Kiki and Keenan are stuck in the nursery, but at least they have something fun to do when they do come with me.

As I was getting ready to leave, Annie came to me for help getting a knot out of her hair. The poor child has such thick hair, I can't blame her for having trouble keeping it untangled. I decided at that point that after my workout, we were getting her hair cut.

Despite the knee trouble I was having yesterday, I still had a great workout. Once I got all warmed up, it really didn't bother me as much. I played it safe and didn't run. I spent an hour in the weight room, did about 30 minutes on the Arc-Trainer and just walked on the treadmill at a 15% incline for another 30 minutes. So, it was still a good burn. I love the way I feel as I'm walking out the gym's double doors. High is the perfect word for it.

Annie and I left the Y and headed into Silverdale. We stopped at Starbucks and got some drinks (skinny caramel macchiato for me, hot chocolate for her), then went to get her hair cut. She ended up getting 3 inches cut off the bottom, long layers, thinning to reduce the bulk and side bangs. She's really happy with the results and I'm really happy she won't have huge mats in her hair every morning! Since we were in the mall, I decided to take her on a little shopping spree. We stopped in VS and got her a couple bras, Aeropostale for some clothes and jewelry. I think she had a great day and I enjoyed the one on one time with her. I can't remember the last time we spent a whole day together.

Time for me to head off to bed. I'm really enjoying not having to get up early to get the kids ready for school. I'll be sad when this week ends, but summer isn't too far off :) I'm a grown-up, but I still love the lazy days of summer...
