The mystery of the invisible thieves!

Dear diary,

Today was such a terrifying day for all of our neighbors. I was busy
reading my fiction stories in the morning that I heard noises from the
outside. Out of curiosity, I placed my ears near the door to
eavesdrop. How hard I tried to get something out of the voices, I
failed. They were not clear at all. So I simply ignore them...

It was lunch time when my mom returned home. She was told that a thief
broke into the landlord house two times this morning. When I heard it,
I was like "Oh, god!" It has been a few days since the landlord and
his wife went on a pilgrimage and left their son (Ali) behind.
According to Ali, the burglar had entered the house a couple of days
ago but strangely stole nothing.

At about 4:30 p.m. I went to take a shower. I was in the bathroom when
I heard somebody screaming. First I thought I was hallucinating; I
just opened the door to make sure. To my wonder, it was nothing. But
then again came the shouts; I guessed it was my mom. So I turned off
the faucet and sprinted out of the bathroom immediately. While I was
calling out mommy, I found her standing at the door warning Ali to be
careful. "He may carry a knife," she said.
ME: What's happening mom?
MOM:Ali has seen 2 thieve trying to enter their house with a
set of keys.
ME: Have they caught them?
MOM: No. They just vanished into thin air.

Up to now, neither police nor the neighbors has caught the thieves. It
is crystal clear that the thieves will not stop this until they are
satisfied. But the question is If they are really thieves why they do
not take anything with themselves every time they break into the
house?!!! Gosh! I am scared out of my wits.

Time: 7:54 p.m on a frosty, rainy Wednesday
