my very favorite game show

I forgave them a long ago for replacing Regis Philbin with
Meredith Vieira. I forgave them for getting rid of the
Phone~A~Friend lifeline. Now the people in charge of "Who
Wants To Be A Millonaire" have done it yet again. Starting
with yesterday's first show of the new season, they've
made a few more changes. The screen is displayed entirely
differently. The questions are scrambled first so no one
will know whether the easy or difficult ones will come up
at any given time. A contestant now gets to ditch a
question if he finds it too difficult. Do we really need
all these changes? It's always struck me as such an
exceptionally good show. By tampering with its formula,
they take a chance on detracting from what really counts.
So far it seems to be working out.
