My Life Thus Far

Ass, Hips and Thighs

There was no way I was writing last night. By the time I
got home from work, I had a screaming headache and just
wanted to go to bed. On the plus side, my time management
was exemplary yesterday! I figured since I have an easy
day today I could just get caught up at my leisure.

I woke up to Snookie tearing around the house like a crazy
person. I don't know if he forgot to set it or if he
didn't hear it, but his alarm was ineffective. So, he was
running a little late. Instead of rolling over and going
back to sleep until the last possible moment, I got up and
got ready to go to the gym. I've been really slacking in
that department the past month or so (yet I'm still losing
weight, amazing).

After dropping Annie off at school, the little ones and I
went to the Y. I took a few minutes to fill out an allergy
card for Keenan and talk with the ladies working in Child
Watch at that time. It's paramount that everybody that
takes care of him knows that he can't have their snacks
(always Goldfish crackers, pretzels, Vanilla Wafers,
graham crackers, etc). I brought his backpack filled with
different snack options and almond milk and I'll make it a
point to remind them each and every day I drop him off.
Until everyone and their mama knows Keenan is a Celiac! I
don't want a well-intentioned caregiver accidentally
derailing his progress with a gluten-y snack :)

I had a great workout! I did my usual weight routine, 30
minutes on the Arc Trainer and Zumba class. It felt
wonderful! It's been awhile since I've been to the gym,
actually. This was my first time this year, but I've been
eating so healthy and working so much (hence, walking a
lot of laps around the store) that that has been my
exercise. Not the same as a good ole beating at the gym,
but enough to keep me on track. I did my final weigh-in
for the Maintain Campaign and I'd actually lost a pound
over the holidays! I would have been happy to have just
maintained, I'd had no intentions of losing anything. A
few of the others weighing in had gained as much as 5 and
6 pounds. I seriously thought I'd be in that club. Nope. I
was a good girl :) I still enjoyed myself, though.

When I got home from the gym, Snookie was home from work
(at noon. Wow, such a hard job he has). So, I left the
kids with him to go grocery shopping. Shopping for food
has taken on a whole new perspective now. I had to stop at
Fred Meyer first. They're the closest place with gluten-
free products most stores don't carry (pastas, breads,
cookies and the like). The rest of the food I got at the
Commissary as always. I'm much more into reading labels
now and amazingly a lot of regular foods are "accidentally
gluten-free". Meaning, they just don't have gluten
containing ingredients and more and more companies are
putting it on their labels. It's helpful. I like being
able to turn a product over and just see "gluten free"
instead of having to scan and interpret a 3 inch long
ingredient list. Of course, it's always just easier eating
natural things like fruits, vegetables and meats, which
make up the bulk of what I've been buying. I love that my
family is eating healthier, whether they like it or not!
Annie with her ADHD, Keenan with his Celiac, Kiki with her
developmental delays, Jason's weight issue and me with my
million and a half nagging health complains, we all are
benefiting from a healthier lifestyle. Instead of just me
going it alone.

I rushed home from the Commissary with just enough time to
shower and dress for work. Snookie unloaded my car while I
dressed and even put my snack in my purse (I've stopped
buying food items at the mall. I'm convinced their trying
to kill me). Work was work. Quiet the way I like it. I'm
LOVING being an associate again. There's nothing like
being on the other side of the fence to see for sure the
grass IS NOT greener on the other side. There's a level of
stress that comes with being responsible for the things
associates don't have to worry about (duh). Somehow, even
though I've gone back to regular associate, I still kept
my management pay raise :) I'm not saying a damn thing!

Tonight Snookums and I are going out on a date :) I wanted
something new to wear, so on my lunch break last night I
went to Forever 21 to find a new outfit. I put myself out
there (for disappointment) and decided to try on some
jeans. I've NEVER been able to fit the jeans at Forever
21. They're tiny and I've got a big ass, hips, thighs. You
know, a woman's body. I picked up a size 30 and looked at
it. I know my body pretty well and I was kinda sure (but
kinda skeptical) that I could fit those jeans, so I
grabbed two different styles and headed for the fitting
room. BOTH fit! I settled on the ultra-skinny jeans, a
pair of gun metal grey satin peep-toe pumps, a sheer cream
colored sweater (that's super sexy) a long necklace and
some rose bud earrings. A total outfit for $60. One of the
things I love about that place, other than the fact that I
can now fit their jeans :)

In 6 hours Selena will be coming to watch the kids. In
that time I'd like to do some grooming (wash my hair,
shave my legs, paint my toenails) and make the family
dinner. Instead of going out to eat tonight, Snookie and I
are going to eat at home with the children. Date night
will consist of a movie (The Lovely Bones, I've been
looking forward to seeing it!) and the casino (so we can
enjoy the adrenaline rush of losing $20). It'll be a great
night :) I might not write until tomorrow afternoon. I'll
be out late tonight, then I have to work tomorrow morning.
So, if you don't hear from me again tonight, you'll surely
hear from me tomorrow. Ciao :)
