Lackluster Performance

Today was one of those days that went off without a hitch.
I sailed through it smoothly and effortlessly. I didn't
get mad about anything. Nothing bad happened... It was
just good :)

I went to the gym as usual. I was a little bummed out
because both of my favorite stationary bikes (the Expresso
machines) were out of order. So I had to use the recumbent
bike. It ended up not being such a bad thing because when
I got off, butt muscles that aren't usually sore were
feeling a little more worked than normal. So, I think when
the other bikes are fixed I'll alternate between the two.

I haven't weighed myself in awhile. So, I'm not really
sure where I stand in that regard, but today when I was
getting ready for work I put on a relatively new pair of
slacks I bought not even two months ago (size 10) and
they're baggy. Nice, but frustrating at the same time. I'm
not going to complain though. I'd rather they be too big
than too small! A lot of my tops are too big as well. I
think I'm due for a little shopping :) I love seeing
results. I'm not trying too terribly hard, but I'm being
consistent and it's paying off.

I had to check the mail today because Helena sent the kids
a package (books and clothes). I haven't checked it in the
better part of a month. All our bills I pay online and no
one hardly ever sends me anything. So I forget. I got a
nice little surprise amid the junk mail. Starbucks sent me
a coupon for a free Vivianno smoothie. It brightened my
day :) I love being a Starbucks Gold cardholder. I also
got an offer from Chase I think I'm going to take them up
on. They sent me (and probably millions of other people)
an offer for a $100 gift card for opening a new account.
I've been wanting to set myself up a personal nest
egg/slush-fund and this makes it even more enticing. I'm
planning on diverting part of my direct deposited paycheck
(and part of Snookums', he just doesn't know it) into this
account with the intent of doing nothing with it. Separate
from our everyday savings and checking. Instead of hiding
money where Snookums can't find it and blow it on crap.

Work was good. Our golden streak seems to be over. We've
had lackluster performance this week. Not bad, but not
great like last week. It's hard to maintain results like
that over the long term, though. I don't understand why
the company sets our goals so high, but it's not my issue
to worry about, thank goodness.

I'm ready for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be as good as
today... Ciao.
