My Life Thus Far

Who? Who? You?

When I take control I'm capable of accomplishing amazing
things. I woke up this morning determined to accomplish
what I kind of blew off yesterday. I got all of the kids'
toys picked up and put back in the playroom. I dusted,
vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen top to bottom, swept and
mopped. All the things I've been wanting to do for the
past week, but either didn't have the time or energy to
do. I even made banana bread out of all the bananas Kiki
decided she didn't want to eat.

I had a meeting at work tonight. It was pathetic. Out of
30 employees only about 10 of us showed up. It was a waste
of a perfectly good Sunday evening. There's very rarely
anything new for me to learn at meetings. Half the time
I'm barred from answering questions because I already know
the answers. Corporate has this little raffle going; if
you fill out this little product knowledge flier and turn
it in you can be put into a drawing for a free 7-way
Biofit (the next bra to come out). The new girls were all
excited, like it's a big deal. I'm still a little
disgruntled. I remember the good ol' days when we got
EVERY new bra for FREE. Not in a raffle, not for $15
(which is a good deal, but still not free). Isn't that
what gratis means? Even the perfume gratises have been
done away with. We used to get a full-sized bottle of the
newest perfume. Now we get the same sample size that
customers with CRM's (customer relation materials. Those
little free stuff cards) get. I suppose something is
better than nothing. It just sucks that one of the major
perks of working at Victoria's Secret is for the most part
gone. I'm wondering if after the economy starts to upswing
again (in a few years, I'm guessing) if the good gratises
will come back?

The only thing I learned tonight was Who? Who? You? Our
Mother's Day selling technique. "WHO are you buying for?
WHO else is on your list? What can we find for YOU"? I'm
pretty successful when it comes to making sales (not that
I try that hard, I just know my product and I believe in
it). I love my job and I really do think Victoria's Secret
has the best bras. Believing in what you're selling makes
a difference.

It's early and the house is clean :) This pleases me. I'm
going to bed early tonight. I mean it! I'm tired and I'm
pretty sure if I go right to bed I'll fall asleep. Ciao.
