When I Can I Do

The weather today was just horrible. Well, not really
horrible, just wet and dreary. Annie's "Beautification
Day" was a no-go. Her troop was going to do some gardening
at a new community center opening in Bremerton, but
because of the downpour this morning it was postponed. She
took it well once I told her she'd get to come to the gym
with me :)

I love the YMCA. I've been going for almost two months and
the longer I'm there the more I love it. I'm getting
comfortable with the staff and I think I'm becoming one of
the regulars. Annie loves it because they've got the
activity center where she can hang out with other kids,
have snacks, play games, etc. So she's entertained and I
get a little time to myself. The past few Wednesday's I've
been waiting until Annie gets home from school (that's her
early release day) to go to the gym just so she can come
along. I can't always do that, since Wednesday is within
my availability at work, but when I can I do.

When we got home I had grand plans of getting the house
TOTALLY cleaned and all the laundry done, but that didn't
happen. I'd also wanted to get all my banana bread baked,
but that didn't happen either. I was lazy :( Tomorrow is a
new day though and I WILL be productive! I want to get the
banana bread baked so I can take some to the meeting at
work tomorrow night and I want to get the house picked up
because maintenance is coming to look at the furnace
either Monday or Tuesday and I can't let them see the mess
the girls like to make of the playroom. Laundry, well
that's just never-ending. On my death bed I'll still be
trying to catch up on laundry! It's okay. I need things to
keep me busy.

Snookums surprised me by calling today. I wasn't expecting
to hear from him. It was only a 15 minute call, but I'll
take what I can get. This deployment is flying by at a
pleasingly rapid pace. Thankfully it's going smoothly and
nothing major has happened (knock on wood). Snookums
couldn't come right out and tell me when he's coming home,
but he kept alluding to the number 74. Which was his
little code for 74 days left. Which means he'll be home
July 15th. We'll see, but for now that's the verdict. It's
two days later than the original homecoming, but it's not
November like they were throwing around for awhile. That
was in the event they went back to the Persian Gulf, but I
didn't see the logic behind that. Then again, the military
doesn't always work with logic understood by us laypeople.
Maybe I shouldn't be talking about this, but who's going
to tell on me? I'm not divulging any secrets of national
security, so I think I'm okay. I need to get to bed now, I
know that much. I've got a busy day ahead of me. Ciao.
