My Life Thus Far

Red and Shiny

I'm writing early tonight, because my friend T'onna is
coming over for dinner and inevitably we always end up
talking until 1 or 2am. By then I'll have no interest in
writing and will just head off to bed. So, I'll write now.

I'm having a really great day :) This morning I woke up
feeling energized and happy. Which set the tone for the
entire day. I got myself and the kids dressed, was just
about to put out the garbage I wanted picked up when the
truck drove by. They weren't supposed to come until noon
and it was a little after 9:30am, so that was a bit of a
downer. But it's not the end of the world. It can stay
hidden in the storage shed in the carport until Snookums
gets home and can take it down to the dumpsters for me.
I'd have to put the seats down in the RAV to get the stuff
there and I'm not comfortable leaving the kids alone while
I do that, so it can wait for Snookums.

I dropped Annie off at St. Luke's at noon and then headed
to the mall. I had $25 Gym Bucks I needed to spend (I love
Gymboree's clothes. Annie is too old for them, even though
she still fits the stuff there, but Kiki likes all their
fun colors). Since Kiki's birthday is next Saturday I got
her a pretty dress for her birthday party :) It's very
colorful and ruffly. Perfect for a 4 year old little girl.
I also got her a necklace to go with it. Gymboree has
coordinating accessories to go along with the different
outfits, which I love. There's nothing better than a
chunky necklace to set off an outfit.

After the mall I went to Target to get Keenan a big-boy
car seat and me a new vacuum cleaner. Keenan long outgrew
his infant seat. His weight was right on the border, but
he's obviously too tall for it. He's a sleeper, though.
So, it was nice being able to cart him into and out of
stores without having to wake him up, but they don't make
infant seats with large infants in mind. I was going to
just use Kiki's convertible seat, but Snookums put it in
the storage shed with no kind of coverage, so it's covered
in a lovely layer of something white and fuzzy. I'm
assuming mildew or mold. Either way I'm not putting my
baby in it. I suppose I'll try to toss the cover into the
washer on the sterilization cycle, but I don't think I'll
ever feel the same about that seat.

My new vacuum cleaner is lovely :) It's red and shiny,
which was the deciding factor when it came down to what
model I wanted. It's just an inexpensive ($139 on sale for
$99!) Hoover, but it's got an automatic rewinding cord, a
pet hair attachment, no filters to replace and a dust cup
instead of a bag. All the features I really give a crap
about. I wonder if it will make me vacuum more? Probably
not, but it's a nice idea :)

Annie finished with Girl Scouts around 3:30pm and we
stopped by the Commissary to pick up stuff for tacos and
the week's groceries. I may still end up picking something
up on Monday while Annie's at Girl Scouts (can you tell
Annie's extra curriculars consume a lot of my time?),
because I went in without my list and already have though
of 3 things I forgot.

T'onna's on her way here now, so I'd better get dinner
started. Ciao :)
