My Life Thus Far

It's Astonishing

When I finally get home, sit down, take off my shoes and
think about what I do in a day... it's astonishing. At
least to me it is. Today I got up at 7am, dressed the kids
and myself, went to Annie's parent/teacher conference,
mailed Snookums a love box, had coffee with Gen, went to
the gym, came home and fed the kids again, cleaned out the
car (including leather treatment on the seats), got ready
for work, went to work, stopped at Target (for baby wipes.
I forgot them on Monday and ear phones. My ear holes are
too small for the iPod's ear buds and Snookums took my
favorite jogging headphones. Punk) I have busy days, but I
wouldn't change it for anything. The time is flying by and
before I know it my Snookums will be home :) I can't wait.
Seriously.

Annie's conference wasn't bad at all. There was the usual:
She talks too much, she gets into other people's business,
she won't do things she doesn't like to do, etc. I've
known that since she was an infant. Mr. Tebo always has
good things to say about her, too though. He's been the
most able to reach her out of all her teachers and she's
thriving under his tutelage. She had the 3rd highest math
score in the 4th grade on the WASL and 1st in the reading
comprehension portion. She's such a smart child. Truly,
there's no denying that. Yet she lacks basic common sense
on an epic scale. I wonder how that's going to work out
for her in life? I'm a little concerned to be quite
honest.

I had another great workout. Every day I up the intensity
a little more. I realize there may come a day when I won't
be up to pounding out an 800 calorie work out. Should that
happen, I won't beat myself up about it. But I'm enjoying
challenging myself and seeing what I can do. Today I
burned 815 calories. Let's see what I do tomorrow now that
I'll have headphones that won't keep falling out of my
ears! Not all ears are created equally and I'm not cut out
for ear buds.

The house wasn't too messy when I got home. I'll do a
quick 20 minute pick-up and call it good. I'm trying to
keep the place neat. I feel very frazzled when the house
isn't clean, that and I need it to stay presentable. I
don't know if I remembered to mention it, but Helena is
coming on Saturday. Just for the weekend. She's meeting
Dan in Vegas between business trips and she always stops
in Washington to visit us and her best friend whenever
she's on the West coast. Between the two of them, Dan and
Helena must have enough frequent flier miles to fly to the
moon and back - first class, of course.

Let me go get my house picked up so I can eat and go to
bed. I'm pretty much starving and my eyes are starting to
hurt, I'm so sleepy. Ciao.
