My Life Thus Far
In The Blink Of An Eye
It's late and I'm so tired. Work was astonishingly busy
tonight - much busier than I'd anticipated. I didn't get
home until after 11pm, which is crazy for an ordinary (not
holiday) night. I was in the bra wardrobing center, which
was a nice change of pace. I'm usually at the cash wrap,
but it felt like I could never get more than 10 feet away
from it before I had to rush back for another bra fitting
or to find someone another size or style. There was a wait
for a fitting room the majority of the night. Where did
everyone come from? I don't know, but we made every
segment and had the entire day made by 6pm. I like an
occasional night like tonight. My 6 hour shift flew by in
the blink of an eye.
There isn't much to say about today. It was pretty routine
and I'm okay with that. Routine has taken on new meaning
the past few weeks. It's much fuller and there are varying
degrees of routine. Just enough to keep me occupied and
entertained.
Right now all I really want is to get something to eat,
get out of these slacks and curl up in bed with my book
until I'm ready to peacefully fall asleep. When I'm in the
middle of a particularly hectic day (like today) I always
look forward to the moment I can retire with my book. I
could live without ever watching TV again, because reading
(expanding my depth and perception of the world, the
people in it, others' thoughts and ideas) is the best form
of entertainment there is. Ciao.
