My Life Thus Far

All I Want Is Warmth

I woke up this morning to 3 inches of snow and more coming
down. Not something you'd expect in Western Washington in
March. All day the weather kept changing. Not subtle
changes either. There was snow, sun, rain, hail, a
windstorm, more sun and a little more wind. All I want is
warmth. Sun, light breezes, 70 degrees and up... Is it too
much to ask?

I called Bangor to make sure they still had the bag. I
wasn't about to drive all that way in the snow for
nothing. It was still there and the lady I talked to was
nice enough to put it on hold for me. It's starting to
grow on me. I mean, I always liked it but I have to
envision myself with the bag to really fall in love with
it. That didn't happen right away, which is why I didn't
buy it yesterday. When I got it home I put it on and stood
in front of the bathroom mirror a few times and I'm
starting to get used to it. It's so big, but I like it.

The Impala's battery is dead. We've got a huge Oak tree in
our front yard that is notorious for dropping limbs at the
slightest provocation. So, when the windstorm started I
wanted to move the Impala across the street, but she
wouldn't start :( Sam (Gen's husband) started her not even
two weeks ago, but hindsight is 20/20 and of course now
I'm wishing I'd had him leave her running for a few
minutes to recharge the battery. I never drive the Impala
anymore. Two cars are not necessary for one person and I'm
too lazy to move the kid's car seats from car to car.
Therefore the Impala has been neglected. I still love my
Pala (she's my car). I just love the RAV's sunroof and
heated seats :)

When I came in from trying to move Pala, Kiki was freaking
out about something. Turns out Keenan had thrown his lunch
up all over himself and his swing and was happily playing
in it. I have no idea why he threw up. I cleaned him off,
washed the swing and went about my housework. A few hours
later he ate again. I put him back in his freshly washed
swing and he threw up again! I don't know why. He seemed
fine. He wasn't crying or fussing. He didn't have a fever.
He seemed happy. I don't get it. Before I put him to bed I
just nursed him. I didn't give him any food and he's been
fine since then. Strange.

I made the kids their pot roast today. I let it cook
slowly in the crock pot for a little over 7 hours with
little red potatoes and baby carrots. I got the smallest
roast the Commissary had and the two of them managed to
polish the entire thing off in one sitting. I was going to
make them banana bread, but Kiki found the bananas I'd
tucked way in the back of the fridge and ate them. I don't
know how one little girl can eat so much.

I've got one load of laundry left to fold, then I'm going
to bed. Keenan has his well-baby check-up first thing
tomorrow morning and I don't want to be late. Ciao.
