My Life Thus Far

Surprise and Perplex

Today was day 1 of Semi-Annual (our big twice yearly sale.
Hence the name Semi-Annual). When I got ready for work
today I hadn't reminded myself what today was and when I
got to work I wasn't fully prepared for the utter chaos
that ensued. It was ridiculous. The mall was fairly empty.
It seemed like the few people there were in the mall were
all in Victoria's Secret! The upside to that was how
quickly my shift flew by. 6 hours felt more like 3. I'll
tell you what, a massive sale can bring out the savage
beast in some woman and why do they feel they have the
right to barter down the prices? This isn't a South
American flea market! The price is as marked - no I won't
give you a discount on a discounted item! Okay, that's all
I've got. I just need a mini-rant...

I've been a real bitch the past few days. It hadn't even
occurred to me until I started getting upset with
customers at work. Usually I'm very good about not letting
them get to me, especially when they take out their
frustrations on me when we run out of their size in
something. Today wasn't the case. I remained professional,
but I could feel the anger bubbling under the surface.
When my shift was over, I couldn't get out of there fast
enough. Pair that with my slightly tight waist band and
ever-so-tender breasts (like the girls don't put up with
enough abuse nursing a 20 pound 6 month old) and I've
decided that I'm suffering from PMS. This will be my
second period since Keenan's been born and I'm not looking
forward to it. Then again, does any woman ever look
forward to her period?

Earlier today I vented my frustrations on UPS. Well, I
vented to Snookums about UPS. My one Christmas present
from Snookums was a new purse. I'm trying to curb my
addiction to Coach by giving another brand a try. So,
Snookie ordered me a Dooney & Bourke Signature Melange
Pocket Satchel from QVC. He ordered it on the 19th, it was
shipped on the 20th and they promised it by the 24th.
Well, it still hasn't gotten here (it's almost the 30th).
I looked up the tracking number online and it was in
Bremerton the morning of the 23rd and I remember seeing
the UPS truck on our street the afternoon of the 23rd, but
I didn't get my present. I'm a little pissed. This is
another indicator of PMS, because normally something like
this would roll off my back, but not today. Snookums
called them while I was at work and they said they're
sorry but they have a backlog of 60,000 packages and I
should get it by Wednesday. That's bull shit. Wednesday is
the 31st. Not the 24th. Okay. That's enough of that rant,
too. I need to go meditate or something. Maybe over a cup
of sleepy-time and a couple Midol. Maybe I'll cry about
nothing at all. That's always emotionally fulfilling. It's
also a great way to surprise and perplex Snookums. Ciao.
Where's the chocolate?
