Cabin Fever

I've been slacking on my literary duties again, I know.
This time It's because I've been busy. Work, kids,
Christmas preparation, visiting family (i.e Jason's
parents, who stagger their visits so they don't have to
see each other. Which means we'll have house guests for
two weeks straight). Jason's dad's flight was cancelled
due to the snow, so he won't be here until Tuesday (or
Wednesday), so that helps.

The holidays are really taking it out of me. I'm glad
Christmas is only 4 days away, so I can be done with it.
By the end of the day I'm exhausted and the last thing I
want to do is write. There's no need for me to make
excuses. I know once Snookums leaves I'll be back to
writing daily (but I make no promises) because I'll have
nothing better to do. Right now I'm really enjoying being
together (the majority of the time) and I appreciate
having him home so much.

This past week Western Washington has been experiencing an
uncharacteristic swing in our normal weather patterns.
Snow, snow and more snow. There's 10 inches here in
Jackson Park and there's a chance for 4-7 inches more over
night. Normally I wouldn't mind being ensconced in the
house, but there's something very isolating about the
snow. It's one thing to be in the house because I want to
be in the house, it's quite another to be stuck at home
because I can't get out. The roads are a nightmare, most
Western Washingtonians have no idea how to drive in snow
and I'd rather not take the chance of getting stuck or
being involved in an accident that could have been
prevented by keeping my happy ass at home. However, after
spending the better part of a week at home, stuck in the
house, I'm starting to experience a little cabin fever. I
still have shopping to do and I'd like a little time away
from the kids. I love them, but mommy needs some down
time!

Tomorrow, come hell or high snow, I'm getting out of here!
I'm going to finish my Christmas shopping and I'm going to
try to do it without getting killed! Ciao.
