My Life Thus Far

So Were Did I Leave Off?

I haven't been writing, but I've been thinking about
writing for the last couple of days :) I've just been too
busy and completely unwilling to sacrifice any much-needed
sleep for it. So where did I leave off? I probably should
have read my last entry to see what I wrote about last.
I'm not sure what days I missed, so I'll start with
Wednesday. This will be very abridged, because I've got a
life and I'd rather be living it than writing about it!

WEDNESDAY~
We ran errands. I deposited a forgotten paycheck (that I
found at the bottom of my purse) in the bank and we picked
up the groceries I needed for Thanksgiving dinner and Pink
Friday's pot luck. When we got home I baked 6 loaves of
bread. 3 pumpkin and 3 banana, then I got ready for work.
I did my usual 5-10pm closing shift. It was an intense
night, though. Between customers and preparing the store
for Pink Friday (pushing lots of merchandise to the floor
and putting out marketing), it was a crazy-busy night that
went by in a flash! I think it would be an understatement
to say Wednesday was a busy day.

THURSDAY~
Snookie and I spent the better part of the morning
finishing up my contributing dishes to Thanksgiving
dinner, which we had at Gen and Sam's house this year. I
made my homemade macaroni and cheese (with 6 different
kinds of cheeses, yum) and mashed sweet potatoes, which
nobody thinks they like until they try them. They're like
candy only way better for you :) We left for Gen's around
2pm and although I hadn't planned on staying long, we
ended up having such a good time (playing Rock Band and
hanging out) that we didn't get home until around 7:30pm.
It was worth it thought, we had a great time. I'll sleep
more when I'm dead.

FRIDAY~
My alarm went off at 4:30am, but I didn't drag my sorry
ass out of bed until about 4:50am, which means I started
my day a little on the rushed side. I still managed to
heat up my pot luck offering (macaroni and cheese) and get
dressed in time. I'd laid out my clothes the night before
and the pumpkin and banana bread I was taking was already
sliced up and ready to go. Amy was a little late, so that
threw me off a little, but I still managed to get to work
on time and everything worked out fine. This was my 3rd
Pink Friday and if I had to compare it to previous years,
I'd definitely say it wasn't nearly as frenzied as my
first year or even last year. There was still time for us
to stand around and chat with one another and even whole
minutes without a line. That didn't mean there weren't
busy moments. I still spent the better part of my 8 hour
shift standing at the register pushing through
transactions. This year I was given the position of
Transaction Lead. It's just for the holidays. Basically a
tenured associate deals with the running of the cashwrap
so the manager can do other things. I'll be handling
customer disputes, dealing with returns and register
issues, managing breaks. Nothing I wasn't already doing
without a title. Tamara is still leaning on me to take the
CSL position and Snookums thinks I should, but we'll see.
Maybe when he leaves and I've got more time on my hands.

SATURDAY~
Today :) Which hasn't really happened yet because it's
only 9:10am. I got to sleep early last night and I feel
totally recovered from yesterday (although my body is
still slightly sore from bending down to get bags and
boxes from the cashwrap cabinets). Snookie and I want to
get the kids out of the house to do something fun (and
active, because they've been couped up in the house for a
couple days), so we're going bowling! We haven't done that
in over a year. It should be fun :) Now that my most busy
days are behind me (at least, until Christmas gets closer)
things should be much more laid back. Ciao!
