My Life Thus Far
The Finer Points Of Algebra
*****
For some unknown reason, I didn't get to sleep until 4am
this morning and I'm completely exhausted. I'd be asleep
already, but Keenan doesn't want to go to sleep yet. This
will be short. As soon as he's down, so am I.
Since there was no school today (Veteran's Day), the kids
and I just hung around the house. I'm done with all the
cleaning and stuff, so it was a very laid back kind of
day. Except for Annie. She was kind of bouncing off the
walls. But, I found a way around that.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine Annie would be as
smart as she is. I mean, I knew she'd be smart (she is my
child), but she's surpassed me already (don't tell her
that). When I was her age, I was struggling with
multiplication, today I introduced Annie to the finer
points of Algebra. I found some math worksheets online and
after about 20 minutes of instruction, she was all over
it. Algebra. I didn't take Algebra until I was in the 8th
grade. Annie is in 4th and while they aren't learning it
yet, she's already got the basics down. Inverse
operations, basic equations, exponents. The girl is
amazing :) I'm really proud of her.
I think Keenan has finally fallen asleep. So, now it's my
turn. I'm going to sleep well tonight. Ciao.
