Political Overload

****

I think I've reached my limit with politics. I've reached
political overload and I'm so glad this election is over.
No more nasty commercials, no more debates or speeches
(well, a dramatic decrease anyway). It doesn't mean things
will go back to the way there were. I know I'll never be
the same after this, but at least the constant focus can
go back to everyday life for awhile. At least until Obama
assumes office in January.

Not to say this about all McCain supporters, but I've
encountered a few that aren't taking his loss very well. I
don't think defaming a person's character or saying
negative things about them simply because you don't like
what they stand for is ever the right thing to do. I'm
hoping that as time passes everyone will be able to move
beyond the hurt feelings and disappointment and be able to
work towards fixing our country's problems together.
Starting with ourselves and our communities and working
outward from there. It sounds almost too much to ask, but
a girl can dream :)

I got to stay home today. They didn't need my on-call at
work, which was nice. I got to relax with the kids and
talk with Snookums on the phone (he's in port in San Diego
right now). I stayed up far too late last night (almost
5am), so I think I'll retire for the night. I'm heading
off to bed. Ciao.
