Level Of Engagement

****

I had a great day. I was busy, but not too busy. I was
entertained. I got to see a friend. It was perfect. Just
the right level of engagement.

I stopped by Annie's school this morning to put money on
her lunch account. I give her lunch money, but she's
always forgetting it in her backpack or leaving it at home
and they're sending me letters home saying her account is
in a negative balance at least twice a week, so I took
care of that today. She wants responsibility, but she
can't make sure she eats everyday. It's hard knowing what
responsibility she's ready for and what's too much for
her. I guess handling lunch money is a little much for her
just yet.

After that, I went to Wal-mart for exercise equipment. I'm
trying to build myself (and Snookums) a little home gym.
So far I've ordered a Gazelle (which I'm kind of
rethinking because Wal-mart had a nice elliptical machine
for only $40 more than what I spent on the Gazelle), then
today I bought an Ab Roller and a Leg Magic Ultra. I've
already got resistance bands, a yoga mat, 5 pound yoga
balls (like hand weights, but soft) and a stability ball.
My goal is to have everything I need for a total body
workout so I can get back into the pristine shape I was in
a couple years ago. Going to the gym is difficult with the
little ones (not to mention the gas, which I'd rather not
spend our money on) and the Family Fitness Center only has
aerobic machines. No weights or strength training
anything. If my body is my temple, I want it renovated :)

Tonight was Annie's Girl Scout night. While she was there,
Gen and I got together for dinner. We needed to spend some
time together. She's my best friend, yet I don't think we
spend nearly enough time together. I miss our almost daily
coffee breaks. It's harder now that I've got Kiki and
Keenan and she's got Cyrus. I remember the days when it
was just me and her. Kiki was in daycare and Cyrus and
Keenan hadn't been born yet. Things change. Life changes.
I don't like all of the changes, but I wouldn't dream of
undoing a thing. Ciao.
