Extra-Professional

****

I just got home from work about half an hour ago. I
figured I'd jot down a quick note before I feed the baby
and go to bed. I'm tired, so going to bed sounds like a
good idea.

I'm glad I took my own advice this morning and went back
to bed. I need time off this stupid knee. It's bothering
me again and I can't help but be frustrated by the fact
that it JUST WON'T HEAL FAST ENOUGH! I opted for rest over
cleaning, wore my brace to work and it's still throbbing
like you wouldn't believe. I know they say soft tissue
injuries, severe strains and sprains, torn ligaments (like
I have) can take longer to heal than bone (my doctor says
give it 10-12 weeks), but this sucks. I'd almost have
rather broken my leg. I've done that before and once it's
in the cast and immobile, it doesn't really hurt much.
Give it 4-6 weeks and you're good as new. Not being in a
cast means I'm tempted to do normal things, which I'm not
supposed to, but I'm stubborn like that.

Work was okay. Not bad (work is never bad), but not the
best night I've had. I was the only closer tonight with
Krissy. A relatively new sales lead that's 9 months
pregnant and really good at delegating, but not so great
about doing much herself. I understand that she's
pregnant, but I worked pregnant too and it doesn't take
any more energy to straighten a panty table than it takes
to stand around and talk. She's a nice girl, but I think
she's a little unprofessional at times (belching, pulling
up her shirt to show people her belly, complaining of
diarrhea, telling crude jokes and making negative comments
about her previous job in front of clients. That was just
tonight). The way I see it, if I were a customer I
wouldn't want to come into a store where someone was
acting like that. I did my best to make up for her lack of
professionalism by being extra-professional myself, but
I'm only one person. Hopefully there aren't any complaints
on Octel tomorrow. I'm not manager, so it's not my
problem. I just love the company and I don't want our
store to be seen in a negative light because of
unprofessional associates. Why do I care so much? Ciao.
