Mommy Multi-Tasking

****

I'm exhausted. I mean REALLY tired. I'm 2am-tired and it's
only a little after 11pm. I'm definitely on my way to bed
as soon as I'm done writing. I did some of my finest mommy
multi-tasking today, which explains why I'm so tired.

Keenan woke up to eat a little before 7am this morning. I
usually try to sneak in another hour of sleep after
feeding him, but the girls were up and at 'em soon after
that. So no more sleep for mommy. For some reason I stayed
up late last night, so getting up early this morning
sucked a little.

I did some cleaning around the house. I've been slacking
on the housework the past couple weeks because of my knee,
but I'm starting to feel better. Each day my knee is
stronger and more flexible. I'm so grateful for that. I
hate not feeling well. Whether it's physically, mentally
or emotionally.

I started washing up Keenan's 3-6 month clothes, because
he's fast outgrowing all of his 0-3 months stuff.
Actually, there's only a couple 3 months sized things he
still fits. So, it's time to pack up the newborn stuff and
time to pull out the big boy clothes. I'm a little sad
about it. He's growing up so fast. I love seeing him fill
out and get all chubby, but that also means he's growing
up and I don't want him to. Can't he just stay tiny for a
little while longer?

Annie had her back to school ice cream social tonight at
6pm. I thought it was the last thing I had to do today,
but it wasn't. I was getting ready to head out the door
for the ice cream social when a Naval Hospital number came
up on my phone. It was strange to be getting a call from
Naval Hospital in the evening (all the clinics close at
4pm), but I answered it, because I figured it had to be
important. It was. Snookums has duty tonight and had a
little accident. He hit his head on a ladder well going to
the mess deck and cut a gash above his eye. He had to have
stitches. The duty driver brought him to the hospital (why
they couldn't do stitches on board the ship is beyond me),
but he couldn't wait for him to be seen and left him
there. So, Snookums called me for a ride back to work.

I made a quick appearance in Annie's classroom, met her
teacher, said "hi" to a few parents I know from previous
school functions, then we had to leave so I could get to
Naval Hospital to pick Snookums up and take him back to
the ship. He had to do colors (taking the flags down and
turning on the huge, very well lit 74 on the side of the
ship) before sundown. There's nothing more invigorating
than trying to be two places at one time.

Okay, I'm off to bed now. I'm not even sure if this entry
is making any sense. I'm too tired to write legibly. Ciao.
